The debacle of HS2 leaves me speechless.
The client is the problem. Is there one? Who signs off on decisions? Why is there no agreed design for Euston station- the current arrangement is a complete embarrassment. When it started nobody I know said it won’t be finished in my lifetime.
HS2 has failed because a fundamentally flawed decision was taken on its alignment, based on the hubristic desire to run trains faster than in Europe.
Plus corruption. Plus environmental lobbying. Plus bat tunnels ...
